51st Annual Wanner Knights’ Invitational 2019

Meet Registration
• We are asking for coaches to do their best in submitting full lineups. Ideally we would like all
teams submitting two entries per event and competing in all the relays.
• Athletic.net to submit entries
• Click on 51st Wanner Knights’ Invitational
• Enter all required info
• Submit entries by 11:59am on Thursday, April 25
Facilities
• All-weather, red synthetic 9 lane track
• Starting blocks will be provided
• Shot put and discus will be thrown adjacent to the track
• No locker rooms will be available. Athletes should not enter the building
• Portable restrooms will be available in the stadium
• A trainer will be in the garage next to the concession stand at the north end of the track
• No grilling allowed
• Please have teams set up camp in the bleachers or outside the track fence. No camps are allowed
inside the track or football field.

Time Schedule
• 4:10pm – Coaches/Scratch Meeting in the garage next to concessions. Need a letter from your AD or Principal to make substitutions. Make scratches with the timing company when you arrive. No changes will be made after 4:30pm.


• 4:30pm – Start Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put and Discus
• 4:45pm – Start High Jump and Pole Vault

• 6:00pm – All running events
Preliminaries and Finals
• Long Jump – Flight 1 begins at 4:30. 3 preliminary jumps, top 10 to finals. Flight 2 and 3 follows.
• Triple Jump – Flight 1 begins at 4:30. 3 preliminary jumps, top 10 to finals. Flight 2 and 3 follows.
• Discus – Flight 1 begins at 4:30. 3 preliminary throws, top 10 to finals. Flight 2 and 3 follows.
• Shot Put – Flight 3 begins at 4:30. 3 preliminary throws, top 10 to finals. Flight 2 and 1 follows.
• High Jump – 1 flight. Begins at 4:45. Start 5’7”, 2” until 6’3” then 1”
• Pole Vault – 1 flight. Begins at 4:45. Start 9’8” until 13’8” then 3”

6:00 3200m Run – Heat 1 - Waterfall
6:15 Frosh/Soph Medley (200-200-400-800) – 3 heats – Yellow exchanges - Can participate in medley and other varsity events.
6:30 4x800 Relay – 2 heats (super alleys) – Green – 3 scratches go 1 heat
6:50 4x100m Relay – 3 heats – Yellow exchanges
7:00 3200m Run – Heat 2 – Waterfall
7:10 110m High Hurdles – 5 heats – Blue marks
7:25 Wheelchair 100m – 1 heat
7:35 100m Dash – 5 heats
7:45 800m Dash – 4 heats – Super Alleys – Green
8:00 4x200m Relay – 3 heats – Black, black, yellow exchanges
8:15 Wheelchair 400m – 1 heat
8:25 400m Dash – 5 heats – Yellow
8:40 300m Intermediate Hurdles – 5 heats – Green stagger
9:00 Dick Pond Gauntlet 1600m Run – 3 heats – Waterfall – Only for the 3rd heat will we
encourage athletes and fans to fill lanes 5 through 9 on the homestretch of the track. No
one can be 50 meters near the finish line or on the first turn.
9:15 200m Dash – 5 heats – Green staggers
9:30 Rockin’ 4x400m Relay – 3 heats – 3 turn stagger – Blue – We will be rocking music for all three heats. Please have all of your athletes on the infield, staying behind our flags while staying off the track, creating lots of noise. Highly encouraged to run back and forth on the infield.


Scoring
• Individual Points: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1
• Relay Points: 20-16-12-10-8-6-4-2
• At-large individuals do not count towards the team scores Awards
Medals for 1st through 8th place. At-large placers can pick up a complimentary medal in the press box. Team plaques for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Champion Shirts
NEW THIS YEAR. My parents, Martin and Jill Renaud, are sponsoring all Wanner Invitational champions with a free Wanner Champion T-Shirt. Champions will be given a ticket and can redeem the ticket in the press box for the t-shirt. We will have one of our athletes on the infield with the tickets.

Rules
All National Federation rules will be followed.
Uniforms IHSA guidelines. Uniforms should be matching along with underlayers being the same solid color. One-Minute Limitation in Field Events

A contestant shall be charged with an unsuccessful attempt if he does not complete his trial or indicate passing within the one minute after his name is called for the trial, unless excused by the field event judge to participate in some other event.

Ten Minutes Between Trials
A competitor excused to compete in another event shall have a maximum of ten minutes between trials.

Bus Parking
Prospect will be hosting many events the night of the Wanner Invitational. We ask that buses drop off athletes at the track and proceed to park at the Randhurst Shopping Mall, which is 1.5 miles east of Prospect High School. Head east on Kensington Road and the Randhurst Mall will be on your left side. In the case of inclement weather, we will send athletes inside to our Fieldhouse until buses are called back to Prospect.
